While it is hard to get too mad at this since the price is so good, I would have paid a bit more money for better packaging.Įach of the CD’s are the exact same remasters from 20 when Rhino reissued the CDs. This means that the only way to see the bonus tracks is to pop the disc into a computer and have it show all of the tracks. The bonus tracks are not listed on the cases either since the sleeves are straight mini-replicas of the LP sleeves. Also, since this cases are LP replicas, there are no bonus liner notes or inserts that were included on earlier remasters or booklets that came with some LPs.
The only CD that does not have this issue is “Going For The One” which has a tri-fold case. The LP sleeves are very flimsy feeling and on many of the CDs the slot for the CD is too big and the disc will slide out when you pick up the case. This is where the major downfall of the package is. Upon opening the box, you see all of the CD’s in their replica LP sleeves. The outer box is really nice looking featuring some great artwork by Roger Dean, The outer box itself is quite study and well constructed. Since there are 12 albums included in the set, each album comes to about $4.58.

By the mid-'90s, even longtime detractors of progressive rock, conceded that they were the best of all the prog-rock bands. Their audience remains huge because they've always attracted younger listeners drawn to their mix of virtuosity, cosmic lyrics, complex musical textures, and powerful yet delicate lead vocals. Where rivals withered away commercially after the mid-'70s, Yes retained their original sound. Founded in 1968, overcame a generational shift in its audience and the departure of its most visible members at key points in its history to reach the end of the century as the definitive progressive rock band.
